Indoor Foundations: Say your chosen cue once (e.g., "Here!"). The instant your dog turns toward you, mark the movement with a "Yes!" and deliver a jackpot of 5 continuous treats.
Add Distance and Motion: Step back 10 feet in your yard. Call once, then jog backward to trigger your dog's natural chase drive. Reward generously when they reach you.
Proof with Distractions: Gradually increase environmental difficulty. If your dog hesitates, lower the distance or distraction level and rebuild certainty.
